Rebel bomber held in Meghalaya

SHILLONG – A top rebel of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) involved in several bombings was arrested Sunday along the India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya, an official said.

Blasts kill eight in Afghanistan

KABUL – Eight people were killed Sunday when two bombs exploded in quick succession in Afghanistan’s southern province of Kandahar, Xinhua reported.

Five others, including four policemen, were injured. The blasts occurred on a ground in Arghandab district.
