Massive fire guts machinery in Uttar Pradesh warehouse

ALLAHABAD – A major fire broke out in a warehouse of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) here Saturday morning, gutting machinery and equipment worth around Rs.50 lakh, an official said. No casualty was reported.

19 dead in Peru bus accident

Lima, Feb 26 (IANS/EFE) At least 19 people were killed and 37 injured when a bus plunged into a ravine in central Peru, police said.

New Zealand quake: Toll rises to 123

CHRISTCHURCH – The toll in New Zealand’s earthquake-hit Christchurch city has reached 123 and is expected to rise further Saturday, police said.
