Prabhakaran’s mother dies in Sri Lanka
COLOMBO – The mother of slain Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) leader V. Prabhakaran passed away Sunday in a hospital, a media report said. She was 81.

Eighteen killed in Afghan bank bombings
KABUL – Eighteen people were killed and 70 wounded Saturday after bombers targeted a bank in eastern Afghanistan, a government spokesman said.
