Guru Dutt’s ‘Pyaasa’ immortalised in book

NEW DELHI – The dialogues and heartwarming songs of legendary actor-director Guru Dutt’s 1957 cinematic masterpiece “Pyaasa” have been immortalised into a book by author Nasreen Munni Kabir.

Titled “The Dialogue of Pyaasa”, it also includes extensive commentary by Kabir and is is available in Hindi, Urdu and English. It will be launched Wednesday.

Sir Peter Jackson recovering after surgery

WELLINGTON – Sir Peter Jackson is recovering in the hospital after undergoing an emergency surgery for perforated stomach ulcer.

The Oscar-winning film director was admitted to Wellington Hospital on Wednesday with acute stomach pains.
