11 Taliban militants killed in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – Eleven Taliban militants, including a rebel commander, were killed in fighting with the security forces in northwestern Pakistan, Xinhua reported Friday.

Three militants and a rebel commander were killed Thursday night in the Sararogha area of South Waziristan tribal region. Four soldiers were injured in the fighting.

Policeman injured in Kashmir gunfight

SRINAGAR – A policeman was injured Friday in a gunfight between security forces and separatist guerrillas in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, police said.
