UN chief condemns attack on Afghan UN office

UNITED NATIONS – UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has strongly condemned the suicide attack on a UN office in Afghanistan’s Herat province.

Moscow, Oct 23 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Two militants were killed in a shootout in Russia’s volatile southern republic of Dagestan Saturday, police said.

Suicide bombers attack UN office in Afghanistan

KABUL – Suicide bombers attacked United Nations offices in western Afghanistan Saturday, an Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman said.

Zemary Bashir confirmed the attack, saying that an unspecified number of gunmen with suicide vests had entered a UN compound in the western province of Herat.
