Jayalalitha’s petition in graft case dismissed

NEW DELHI – The Supreme Court Tuesday dismissed former Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalitha’s petition in a disproportionate assets case.

Jayalalitha said the officers who investigated the case were not competent to carry out the probe under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The petition was dismissed as withdrawn.

Palestinian children living in poverty

JERUSALEM – Three out of four Palestinian children in East Jerusalem live below the poverty line, a report has said.
