Major fire breaks out in Lucknow plastic factory

LUCKNOW – A massive fire broke out in a plastic recycling factory in a densely populated area of this Uttar Pradesh capital Monday, police said. No casualties were reported.

The fire engulfed the factory in Talkatora area. At least 10 fire tenders were pressed in to douse the blaze.

Leopard’s carcass found in Uttar Pradesh forest

LAKHIMPUR KHERI – In a suspected case of poaching, a young leopard’s carcass was recovered from a forest area here, officials said Monday.

The carcass of a three-year-old male leopard was recovered late Sunday evening from Bira forest range, some 200 km from Lucknow.

Estonia mourns deaths at orphanage fire

Tallinn, Feb 21 (IANS/RIA Novosti) The government of Estonia has announced Monday as the day of mourning for victims of an orphanage fire that killed 10 children.

The fire at the orphanage for disabled children in western Estonian town of Haapsalu broke out Sunday afternoon, when 37 children and nine adults were in the building.
