Chhattisgarh seeks central funds for Maoist-hit districts

RAIPUR – Chhattisgarh has sought Rs.4,553.17 crore from the Planning Commission for integrated development of seven districts hit by Maoist violence, an official said Saturday.

Kabul blast an accident (Second Lead)

KABUL – An explosion that rocked Kabul Saturday was caused by the accidental detonation of a mine, the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said, defusing fears of a terror attack.

Explosion hits Kabul embassy quarter

KABUL – An explosion rocked Kabul Saturday morning, but there were no immediate reports of casualties, a government spokesman said.
